Member of Parliament for East Central St. Catherine, the Jamaica Labour Party’s Alando Terrelonge says he condemns the baseless and deceptive claims made by mayor of Portmore, Leon Thomas, regarding the brawl at the recent meeting on Portmore’s parish status.
In a statement issued on Wednesday night, Terrelonge said Mayor Thomas’s labelling of people who support Portmore’s transition to a parish as troublemakers or political activists, is a slap in the face of hardworking taxpayers.
He says the mayor’s reckless attempt to paint residents who support parish status as Labourites or aggressors is intended to mislead.
Terrelonge says Mayor Thomas should be contrite in this time.
