Member of Parliament for West Portland, the JLP’s Daryl Vaz is criticising the People’s National Party, PNP, for its decision to boycott two parliamentary by-elections set for later this month.
The PNP has said it will not field a candidate in the by-elections in North West St. Andrew and South Trelawny, both set for November 22.
But the PNP will field candidates in the two by-elections in the Aenon Town division of the Clarendon Municipal Corporation and the Morant Bay Division in St. Thomas.
Vaz says he’ll be working to ensure the PNP is unsuccessful in both contests.
Meanwhile, Daryl Vaz says labourites have to remain focused on the goal of securing a third straight term in office for the Holness administration.
He says they should avoid being distracted by the antics of the PNP.
