Vaz Distances Himself From Man Listed As Suspect By Police

PNP Caretaker for Central Westmoreland, Dwayne Vaz, has distanced himself from a man seen in a photograph alongside him, who has since been identified as a suspect in last Friday’s deadly confrontation between the police and gunmen in Negril.

The man, is suspected to be a lookout driver for the four men killed by the police moments before they were reportedly set to rob a Beryllium armoured vehicle transporting millions of dollars in cash.

In the photograph, which has been making the rounds since Saturday, the man can be seen posing alongside Mr. Vaz, at what appears to be an event for school children.

However, in a statement on Tuesday Mr. Vaz, says the man is a school teacher and was in attendance at a sports day event at which the PNP Caretaker was also present.

He denies having any further knowledge or relation with the man in question.
