The opposition People’s National Party, PNP, has called for a clear transition plan following the announcement that Finance Minister, Dr. Nigel Clarke, is departing government.
Dr. Clarke has been appointed Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, IMF.
In a statement on Monday, the PNP congratulated Dr. Clarke on his appointment, describing his elevation as a notable achievement for Jamaicans on the global stage.
But PNP general secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell, says his departure raises serious concerns.
The PNP general secretary says the government must give clear plans as to how the administration will address what it says are the the ongoing economic crises, in the face of Dr. Clarke’s departure.
