Opposition Spokesman on Health, Dr. Alfred Dawes, says there’s a mould crisis in need of urgent attention at the Kingston Public Hospital, KPH.
Addressing a PNP media briefing on Tuesday, Dr. Dawes says the current administration is actively attempting to downplay the poor state of the facility.
KPH is the largest multidisciplinary hospital in the Government Health Service. It’s also the largest trauma centre in the public hospital system.
Dr. Dawes says the country cannot afford a shutdown of the facility in a similar manner to what occurred at Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James.
According to Dawes, such an outcome would place significant strain on an already overburdened health system.
He’s urging Health Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton to address the issue.
