PM Granted Leave to Apply for Judicial Review of IC Report

2 weeks ago 9

Nationwide News understands that Prime Minister Andrew Holness has been granted leave by the Supreme Court to challenge via Judicial Review an Integrity Commission report concerning his Statutory Declarations.

The prime minister has been granted leave on a number of grounds, including his move to pursue a challenge of the contents of the Integrity Commission report and processes engaged by Integrity Commission director of investigation, Kevon Stephenson.

The Supreme Court on Friday morning granted leave to pursue Judicial Review on a vast majority of the grounds which lawyers for the prime minister had sought permission to challenge the report.

The prime minister is seeking, among other things, to have the IC investigation report on his finances rejected as “unlawful” and “unfair”.

Prime Minister Holness is being represented by a legal team which is led by King’s Counsel Georgia Gibson Henlin and Ransford Braham.

The Integrity Commission is being represented by Michael Hylton KC.

We will have more on this developing story in subsequent newscasts.
