Member of Parliament for North West Manchester, Mikael Phillips, is calling on the government to address procurement challenges that are stalling development projects across the country.

He made the remark against the background of the long-awaited start of work on the Troy Bridge.

The Troy Bridge, which sits on the border of the North West Manchester and South Trelawny constituencies, collapsed in December 2021. It will cost approximately $230 million to repair the bridge and the work is expected to be complete within six to seven months.

Phillips says he’s relieved repair work is finally underway.
