Chairman of the PNP’s constituency organisation in North Trelawny, Dennis Meadows, is urging young people to take advantage of the free programmes being offered at the HEART/NSTA Trust to earn a legal living.

This, in light of the government’s announcement that it will be providing grants to students enrolled in various programmes at the institution in a bid to grow the country’s labour force.

The programme, dubbed the CARE Initiative, will see students receiving a weekly stipend of $13,000 for the duration of their training. They will also receive an additional stipend of $15,000 per month to cover transportation costs.

Mr. Meadows says he’s happy that his suggestions regarding the stipend did not fall on deaf ears.
