KSAMC Cancels Contract of Workers Who ‘Never Showed up for a Day’s Work’

Mayor of Kingston, Andrew Swaby, says the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation, KSAMC, has cancelled the employment contracts of two people he says never showed up for a day’s work.

Swaby has declined to name the individuals.

But he says they were employed at a facility in the Rae Town division of Central Kingston.

Speaking at Tuesday’s monthly meeting of the corporation, Mayor Swaby says the KSAMC has also fired several workers assigned to the St. William Grant Park.

Meanwhile, Mayor Swaby says a number of key committees, which were previously dormant, have been meeting regularly since the People’s National Party assumed leadership of the KSAMC.
