JLP Sends Condolences to Family of Late Councillor Christopher Townsend

The Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, is expressing condolence at the passing of Councillor Christopher Townsend.

Townsend, councillor for the Olympic Gardens division in West Central St. Andrew, passed away Wednesday night from what is believed to be natural causes.

Deputy JLP leader, Desmond McKenzie, says the party is saddened.

Mr. McKenzie, who is also the local government and community development minister, says Townsend served the division with distinction for a long time.

He also hailed the late councillor, saying he provided critical support to the member of parliament and party leader, Andrew Holness.
