Member of the Jamaica Labour Party’s, JLP, Communication Task Force, Marlon Morgan, says the party expects to retain the Aenon Town division in Clarendon.
The JLP is being represented in the Aenon Town race by Suzette Barton, while the People’s National Party, PNP, are counting on Delroy Dawson.
Morgan says the JLP is facing a tough challenge in the Morant Bay division, where the party is hoping its candidate, Winston Downie can beat the PNP’s Rose Marie Shaw in a seat that leans PNP.
Morgan says voters should reward the JLP for revitalising St. Thomas.
Meanwhile, Mr Morgan, says he does not expect a high voter turnout in the by-elections in South Trelawny and North West St. Andrew.
He says he expects the turnout to be in the range of 12 to 15 per cent. But he says that should not be used to judge the true level of support for the JLP in the two parliamentary seats.
