Prime Minister Andrew Holness has hit back at comments made by the opposition People’s National Party, PNP, about the FINSAC archives.
The Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, leader says he’ll work hard to ensure those responsible for and who benefitted from the FINSAC era, never assume political power in Jamaica.
He was speaking Wednesday night in a surprise appearance at a Young Jamaica general meeting on the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies.

The FINSAC archives were published last week Thursday.
It contains information collected by the FINSAC Commission in its attempts to examine the factors which contributed to the near collapse of the country’s financial system in the 1990s.
While welcomed by many, the opposition PNP has criticised the move.
Opposition Senator Peter Bunting says the publication of the archives is meant to distract from the Integrity Commission’s report into the prime minister’s finances.
But Prime Minister Holness has shot back. In a veiled reference to senior members of the PNP, he says connected political actors who benefitted from the destructive policies of the PNP administration of the 1990s and who now seek to lead Jamaica today, should fail in their mission.
Holness says he’s committed to ensuring Jamaica’s economic gains are sustained.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Holness says his administration has stabilised the economy and is building Jamaica’s reserves.
