Minister with responsibility for water, Mathew Samuda, has promised residents of West Kingston major improvements in supply and distribution of the life-giving liquid within 18 months.
The minister accepted that the lack of reliable water supply in the area is unreasonable.
He was addressing the West Kingston annual constituency conference in Tivoli Gardens on Thursday.
Minister Samuda says in 18 years of government, the now People’s National Party opposition failed to address the water infrastructure needs in the constituency.
He says the long-awaited Rio Cobre Water Treatment Plant will further buttress water supply throughout the corporate area, including west Kingston.
