A senior member of the Jamaica Labour Party’s communication taskforce, Senator Abka Fitz-Henley, is describing as unbecoming, the PNP’s comments about Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ plans to sue for defamation.

In a statement on Friday, the PNP called the Prime Minister’s threat frivolous.

Senator Fitz-Henley says the PNP’s response is unwise.

At a press conference on Wednesday, PNP President Mark Golding and Deputy Senate Leader, Donna Scott-Mottley used words to suggest that the Prime Minister knowingly did not tell the truth when he was asked last year whether he knew whether any member of the JLP is under investigation for illicit enrichment.

Senator Fitz-Henley says the JLP will not engage in a tit-for-tat with the PNP concerning the comments made at the press conference which he says maligned the Prime Minister without credible basis.
