Dancehall artiste and businesswoman Yanique “Curvy Diva” Barrett has been charged with Simple Larceny, Housebreaking, and Malicious Destruction of Property.
Music News understands that the charges are connected to an incident on Dunrobin Avenue, Kingston 10, in July 2023.
According to reports from the Half Way Tree Police, around 7:28 p.m., a business owner locked up his establishment before leaving. Shortly after, Yanique, who previously had a business relationship with the owner, was allegedly seen on the property with a locksmith. The owner returned to find the locks broken, furniture and other items missing, and significant damage to the building.
Following an investigation, Yanique Curvy Diva was formally charged yesterday, December 5, and is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, December 12.
