Women’s CG Super50 Winning Streak Could Reignite Cricket Interest in Jamaica – Commentator

After four rounds, Jamaica lead the CG United women’s Super50 Cup points table with 24 points.

Defending champions Barbados area a distance second with 14-points, with Guyana third on 13, Windward Islands are fourth with 10-points.

The Leeward Islands at fifth with two points, while Trinidad and Tobago are at the foot of the table without a point.

Jamaica are the only undefeated team on the six team table, following their three wicket win over the Windward Islands.

Veteran cricket commentator, Joseph ‘Reds’ Perreira, says the women’s winning streak should serve to revive interest in the sport locally.

Perreira also welcome news that Brandon King will replace Jermaine Blackwood as Captain of the Jamaica Scorpions for the remainder of the Regional four day West Indies cricket championships.
