WI Championships: Scorpions Resume with 49-run Lead

The Jamaica Scorpions with a lead of 49-runs, will resume on 59 for 4 in their second innings against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes in their fifth round West Indies regional encounter at Sabina Park.

Kirk McKenzie 24 and Peat Salmon 2 are the not out batsmen.

Among the men dismissed are Jermaine Blackwood for 5 and captain Brandon King for 19.

The Hurricanes secured a 10 run lead on first innings after they were dismissed for 231.

Justin Greaves 62, Kacy Carthy 53 and Kieron Powell 41 scored most runs against Salmon 5 for 50 and Ramaal Lewis 4 for 80.

At St. Augustine, the West Indies Academy will resume on 44 for 1 batting a second time against the Combined Campuses and Colleges.

The Academy team secured a 69 run first innings lead after Bowling out the Campuses team for 231.

At Queens Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force will resume on 100 for 3 still seven runs behind Barbados Pride.

Barbados made 279 all out in reply to the Red Force first innings 172 all out.

And at Coolidge, champions the Guyana Harpy Eagles will resume on 168 for 1, an overall lead of 363 against the Windward Islands Volcanoes.

Tevin Imlach 88 and Tagenerine Chanderpaul 78 are the not out batsmen.

The Volcanoes were blown away for 113 in response to the Harpy Eagles’ 308 all out.

Isiah Thorne bagged 4 for 38 and Ali Mohamed 3 for 30.
