DUJUAN ‘WHISPER’ Richards netted his first Chelsea goal on Friday, scoring the fifth goal in a 7-1 drubbing of Newcastle United in Premier League Two (Under-21 league) away at the Blue Flames Sports ground.

Richard has played five Under-21 games, all as substitutes, but failed to hit the mark in appearances against West Ham, PSV Eindhoven in the Premier League International Cup, Norwich and Arsenal in Premier League Two.

However, on Friday, after replacing Leo Castledine in the 73rd minute, the former Kingston College ace raced onto a through ball down the right, sized up his defender before cutting in on his favoured left foot and before curling a low shot into the far corner to make the score 5-1.

The youngster, who also plays in the Under-18s for the London club, has been getting valuable minutes in both competitions since making his debut.

Richards starred in the 2022 schoolboy football season, scoring more than 30 goals.

He made his senior international debut at just 17 years old and scored his first goal for the country during the Gold Cup game against Trinidad and Tobago last year.

He signed a pre-contract with Chelsea in March 2023, and it was announced that he would join the club after his 18th birthday. The move was eventually confirmed by Chelsea in January of this year.

Richards first trained with Newcastle in England in February of last year, and seemed set to sign with the Tyneside club but had a change of heart, eventually joining Chelsea instead.
