Securing spots on the latest compilation of the top-five trending list are Dancehall artistes Skippa, Teejay, Valiant, Squash, and Nhance. This list is based on the top five trending songs on YouTube for Jamaica at the moment.
Valiant kicks off this top-five list at #5 with his single Gwan Suh. The single is the latest release from the artiste on the platform and was directed by Now Or Neva’s Djuvii. The track was released on July 26 and produced by Dj Mac Music, Outta Door Records, and Raheem Widi Book.
Following its release, it has so far acquired over 482,000 views and 25,000 likes.
Taking the #4 spot on trending is Skippa, who claims the spot with his song No Prop. The underground Dancehall artiste proudly flexes his cash as he declares that real ‘bangas’ don’t shoot music videos with props.
Produced by Solitary, Hugo Boss, and Rich Together Entertainment, No Prop has acquired over 660,000 views and 19,000 likes since its release on July 13.
While Skippa has not yet tapped into mainstream Dancehall, the artiste continues to be a fixture on the trending music list in Jamaica and makes a second appearance on this list at #3. The deejay claims the spot with his latest release Moves, which was produced by Moringa Boss Music and Shawn Productions.
Released on July 26, the song has since garnered over 217,000 views and 13,000 likes.
Rising Dancehall artiste Nhance claims the #2 spot on trending with his single Tables Turn, which features Teejay. The track was the young deejay’s first release on YouTube after his debut performance at Reggae Sumfest as a part of Teejay’s set at the event last month.
The Bright Nation Records-produced single was released on July 23 and has so far acquired more than 653,000 views and 27,000 likes.
Squash secures the #1 spot on trending with the track Shub Out. The track was produced by 1KB Records and 6ixReal Records and was released on July 17.
Shub Out has since amassed over 1.4 million views and 32,000 likes on YouTube.
