Teejay performed on Night 1 of Reggae Sumfest 2024, calling up fellow Dancehall artistes Quada and Nhance, the Mobay deejay also called up his son Jaydon to perform a collab they did together on his album titled ‘I Am Chippy‘.
10 minutes into his performance, Teejay called up Jaydon, after doing so he talked briefly about an issue that happened backstage. “Since night mi get ignorant back stage and mi just wah apologise fi that Reggae Sumfest because the world know Teejay is a humble youth,” says Teejay.
He stated that the organisers of the show have always made it a priority to have him on the show, which is something he “respect”. Teejay went on to perform the song titled ‘Star‘ with his son, which also features Quado who took to the stage to perform his part of the song.
Further on into the performance, Teejay took aim at Valiant who he has been in a lyrical feud since the start of the year. “Could somebody please warn s**k p**sy Valiant yuh nuh killa likkle bwoy yuh a copy man,” he sings after outlining that he does not take “disrespect” from people.
Teejay next took aim at DJ Mac stating, “Nuh bwoy cah box mi dung like DJ Mac mi nah stop seh that,” as he introduced his first hit song ‘Up top‘.
There are speculations online that Teejay’s confrontation backstage involved Valiant or Valaint’s associates. Nevertheless, Teejay did not mention who had a fallout with backstage.

Notably, Jada Kingdom who was booked to perform also on Night 1 was a no-show, the reason for her absence from the stage is yet to be revealed.
