West Indies beat Bangladesh by five wickets to take a 1-0 lead in their three-match One Day International, ODI, series at Warner Park in St. Kitts, on Sunday.
Batting first, Bangladesh made 294 for 6 off their 50-overs. Romario Shepherd took three wickets and Alzarri Joseph claimed two wickets.
Chasing 295 to win, the Windies, led by a century from Sherfane Rutherford reached the target with 14-balls to spare. Rutherford’s 113 came off 80 balls and included seven fours and eight sixes.
Final scores, Bangladesh 294 for 6, West Indies 295 for 5.
This was Rutherford’s maiden ODI century.
The Guyanese was hit twice during his innings.
