Jamaica’s national senior netball team beat England 61-53 in the final match of their four-match Vitality Horizon netball series at the National Indoor Sports Centre Tuesday night.
The Roses jumped into an early lead, taking the first quarter 15-11. The Sunshine Girls then rallied to tie the game 21-21, before closing the second quarter in the lead, 28-26.
The Jamaicans were even more impressive in the third quarter, 42-39, before going on to dominate the fourth. Romelda Aiken-George led the scoring for Jamaica with 40 goals, while goal-attack Shanice Beckford supported with 21.
With the win, the Sunshine Girls took the series 2-1 to become the first holder of the Rhone Hornsby Trophy.
Captain Shamera Sterling-Humphrey, was named player of the series.

For the England Roses, Liv Tchine scored 42 goals from 47 attempts.
