Sunshine Girls Mentally Ready for Vitality Horizon Series – Coach

National senior netball coach Sasher-Gay Henry says despite a challenging last few training sessions, the Sunshine Girls are mentally ready for action against the world’s number two England when they in the first ever Vitality Horizon Netball Series against England.

The Jamaican team is scheduled to leave the island tonight for Manchester ahead of the series at the AO Arena on November 16 and 17, before shifting to Kingston at the National Indoors Sports Centre on November 25 and 26, for the return games.

The team wrapped up it’s local preparation on Wednesday.

Henry told Nationwide Sports, that the latter stages of the local preparation wasn’t the smoothest, but they are ready for the challenge nonetheless.

The games form part of a the new challenge series where England and Jamaica play four internationals per year for four years, two at home and two away.

The games in Kingston and Manchester are quick turn around but Henry says her players are use to making adjustments.

Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard will once again lead the squad which is completed by Shanice Beckford, Mischa Creary, and Rhea Dixon will lead the attack, Center court Abigale Sutherland, Khadijah Williams, Crystal Plummer, and Theresa Beckford while on the defensive end Shamera Sterling Humphrey, Kadie-Ann Dehaney, Latanya Wilson, and Jody-Ann Ward.

Three members of the current Fast5 squad—Zaudi Green, Kimone Shaw, and Simone Gordon—will join the team for the Kingston leg of the series.
