Reggae artiste and TikToker Shocking Murray says he is both eager and excited about the prospect of touring Africa early next year to promote his recently released EP, Unchained.

"I'll never forget the first time I toured Africa; it was in 2022. I did a series of shows in Senegal and Gambia - it was a fantastic experience. I'm looking forward to returning to the continent early next year to promote my new EP. My team is currently working with several promoters to organise this tour," said the artiste. The four-track EP, which was co-produced by Shocking Murray and Germaine Clarke, was released in May. Shocking Murray also revealed that he is currently working on a new album, and he also plans to shoot music videos for several of his latest songs.

All of this, according to the Jamaica-born deejay who resides in Germany, will be a part of his catalogue when he visits the motherland.

"I've been very busy in the studios lately, working on my new album. It's almost completed and should be ready for release before I go to Africa next year," he said.

Shocking Murray, born Collin Murray, rose to prominence between 2019 and 2020 after he took his talents to social media during the pandemic. He has since become one of the most popular Jamaican TikTokers.

"During the lockdown, I couldn't perform on any shows or go to the studio to make music. That is when I started creating content and going live with my friend Rasta King, who is a popular TikToker," he said.

Shocking Murray claimed that the decision to promote his music on TikTok is working, adding that "it is the new way for artistes to promote and showcase their talents".

"We are in a digital age and social media has taken over and turned the world into a small village. One just has to be themselves and keep it real; and make sure that you go on social media with good content, and you can achieve great success," he said.

The Portland-born singjay, known for songs like So Nice and One Man Alone, has racked up more than one million 'likes' and 100,000 followers on TikTok to date.
