A creative who takes inspiration from God and the people, dancehall artiste Shaney Blaxx believes he is on the verge of a major breakthrough in music following the release of his single, Rebel.

The song, produced by Dan Chiice Music, was released last month but is already generating interest in several key music circles.

"It's like the song was something that the ladies wanted, because they are the ones reacting mostly to it. The vibes is good so far and I have to give thanks for that," said the former Bridgeport High School student.

Shaney Blaxx came onto the music scene in 2017 with Gwap Wi Ah Gwap, which was produced by 7 Offspring Music. He has produced a number of tracks over the years, including Concrete Jungle, which was produced by World Blast Music and released in May.

The east Kingston native said he draws musical inspiration from the late greats Bob Marley and Garnett Silk, and current trendsetters Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel and Chronic Law.

"If you look at what they have done, and continue to do, for Jamaican music today, you will understand the inspiration. My vision is to reach higher heights than those greats of reggae and dancehall," he said.
