Senator Hill Commends Amber Group for Helping to Upskill Jamaicans

Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Senator Aubyn Hill has praised the Jamaica-based technology firm, Amber Group, for aiding in the upskilling of young Jamaicans.

Senator Hill made the comments at the The Amber-UTech Launchpad at the University of Technology, last week.

The initiative will see the Amber Group partnering with UTECH, to assist 100 start ups to launch their businesses over the next three years. Up to $2 billion is expected to be invested in the programme.

Senator Hill says upskilling remains critical as Jamaica seeks to break ground in overseas markets.

Senator Hill says initiatives such as the Launchpad will help Jamaica in achieving its goal of having a positive trade balance.
