Scotiabank says effective October 1, prospective clients in the Caribbean wishing to open an account can now do so entirely online.
The financial institution says the platform’s capability to now accept new account requests is an expansion of the digital onboarding process previously made available to existing Scotiabank clients last year.
In a statement to the media, the bank noted that this element of its global strategy is to make doing business with Scotia easier and the ability to open an account online will improve the overall client experience.
The new process features enhanced data management and responsive designs which are intuitive for clients.
Scotia says new clients can also be assured that the information they provide is protected and that the process for opening their accounts online will be easy and seamless.
Additionally, it says the use of technology will allow complete document review and personal ID verification remotely, while providing enhanced security, privacy and efficiency.
