Sangster Calls Out DJ Mac and Topmann

Fast-rising dancehall artiste Sangster has put embattled producer DJ Mac under even more fire for allegedly leaking his concept to fellow dancehall artiste Topmann. According to Sangster, he sent DJ Mac a freestyle on the Rvssian-produced Dutty Money Riddim, after which Topman released a DJ Mac-produced track with a very similar concept.

“I sent my song to DJ Mac and I saw where he opened the message and listened to my song but did not respond. Soon after, I heard Topmann singing the same concept on DJ Mac’s riddim so I messaged Topmann and he claimed he never heard my song yet still him even used my lyrics. As an artist, I know that great minds can think alike but this is too close for comfort” stated Sangster.

Earlier this week social media was sent into a frenzy after it was alleged that DJ Mac was attacked by members of a popular artiste’s entourage while leaving a popular nightclub in the corporate area. A short video has since been making the rounds on social media which shows an individual (said to be DJ Mac) in a tussle with a group of men after exiting a car.

Born Sangster Philips the Old Harbour native says music has always been a part of his life and he can remember doing music as a child. Music was not only a passion for Sangster but also his saving grace because it provided a mental escape from the harsh realities of inner-city life.

“Music saved me from certain things enuh because me could an easily be another product of the street and lose my 3 points like nuff a di yute dem wheh me grow up with yuh zeet. I always did well in school, but as a ghetto yute a regular me used to reach home and a hear shot a fire roun ah one part and even though I was only a child I understood that I should channel my emotions into my art” Sangster stated.

Currently, Sangster is busy in studio recording for a plethora of producers and is also promoting his “Fire In The Rain“ single.

According to Sangster he is leaving the situation with Dj Mac and Topmann to time but says he will be more careful in terms of protecting his intellectual property.
