As the Christmas season cranks into high gear, Rickey Teetz is making an appeal for the public to be more charitable in their thoughts and actions towards the less fortunate.

"We have to help those among us who are strugging, whether it is helping the homeless or the mentally challenged, or giving advice to young youth to follow the right path, to stay away from gangs and make better decisions. It is better to light a candle and bring light, than curse the negatives and the darkness around you," he said. The deejay is promoting his latest single, Prime, which he said is doing well islandwide. The single was produced by Street Frame Record. He plans to shoot the video this month.

Rickey Teetz, whose given name is Ricardo McLean, was born in 1983 in the Montego Bay community of Rose Heights. He hopes to inspire others with his music.

"The youth need to find something that they love and just commit and do it. Do it your way, with your style. Don't worry about what someone else is doing. Focus on your skills and everything will work out; believe!" he said.
