Dancehall artiste/social media personality Queenie shared that her "creative juice, public rants and overall vibrant personality" is what landed her a major international deal as she eyes an upcoming collaboration with Nicki Minaj.

An ecstatic Queenie told THE STAR that she got "butterflies" from Nicki's endorsement.

"Oh my God, tears full mi eye, mi heart leap. Mi a seh 'Who could it be but God? God is not dead but he's alive' and mi just start talk bare God saying," she said. Queenie explained that in October 2023, she was having marriage problems and vented her feelings on TikTok.

"So she [Nicki Minaj] came on live and give me a 10-minute 'girl power' speech. Couple months after, me wid my creative brains now, voice a song - Yuh Waah Feel Like Nicki - fi all a di ladies dem weh nuh have no confidence. Mi jus use Nicki as a role model because yuh know she's a 'Barbie Queen' and she sexy," she said.

A year later, Queenie had another online rant about her divorce and while venting, a comment from Nicki sparked a "life-changing" moment.

"'One man to mi goodie ah nuh Dewey. I son b**ch the weather ain't never dewey. Alright... Mek we talk straight nuh? Coolie. Bwoi ah get big head like ah Stewey," Nicki wrote. Queenie, who was recording at the time, used the line in the single Queens of all Queens.

"But because she dweet publicly now, everyone get excited and den me guh mek di song right after and post it. She [Nicki responded] and seh 'Queenie yuh quick, mi affi guh do a collab with yuh and teach yuh how to rap,'" the Double Tap artiste shared. She noted that the Internet went into a frenzy when Nicki further commented, "Queenie if you really wanna do a song, give me a couple days to come up wit it."

Queens Of All Queens and Yuh Waah Feel Like Nicki are both set for release on December 2, Queenie's birthday.

In an official confirmation, the Trinidadian rapper directly messaged Queenie, which the latter shared with T HE STAR.

"'Hey Mama, [please] send me the beat so I can start write the rap to it...you can send couple [different] ones if you want," the messages read. The Megatron singer, who is known for her strong love and support for Jamaican music and creatives, has previously collaborated with dancehall artistes Skeng and Skillibeng.

Queenie said this development has pushed her to do more in making a musical comeback as she is currently processing the emotional rollercoaster of a divorce. She also lauded Nicki for being a "true Sagittarius queen who look up to the ghetto youths".

"She always encourage and support me and seh mi always mek her laugh and mi mus not change for anybody," she said. An emotional Queenie revealed that after losing her daughter, she started listening to Nicki's songs - which were her daughter's favourites - and thus she too became a fan. Queenie, who rubbed shoulders with Nicki in her dressing room at the 02 arena in London in May, said the rapper offered her a chance to perform but she missed out because she was not fully prepared professionally. However, with this collaborative deal, she plans to buckle down and take on a more "professional" approach to her music.

"It's a challenge to see that the top queen of rap want to do a collab with me. It gives me that motivation to voice train myself, get in line and be more professional. Mi excited - mi so excited and mi can't wait to start record it," Queenie chuckled.
