Queen Ifrica has issued some motherly advice to her Dancehall compatriots Skeng and Valiant, warning that they could meet the same fates as Vybz Kartel and Mavado if they do not cease hostilities.
In an Instagram post this morning, Ifrica pressed Skeng to discontinue the supposed feud and urged Valiant to focus his attention on making music with wholesome lyrics.
“My Dearly Beloved Young Amazing Talent Skeng, if you don’t Stop This so call feud With Valiant you will end up like Movado!!! And to Valiant, you can’t be the next Kartel ok son so just do some clean music now and stay out of this one bbz ,” she wrote on the IG post which featured an image of Skeng’s cover art for his song titled All Out which premiered on YouTube on Tuesday at midnight.
The song in question has as its cover art, a bloody cap akin to the one worn by Valiant in his viral ‘Kotch e hat a lie’ video clip which brought him to national prominence and a garbage bag next to it.
The visuals led numerous people to speculate that the gun-toting lyrics of the song were aimed at Valiant in a bid to “diss” him.
However, Valiant in response in a live online session with his followers, threw down the gauntlett declaring that he is unafraid of clashing, but affirmed that he would not harp on Skeng’s uncharitable attitude towards him as he had no clue why the Protocol artist was misbehaving.
“Mi si oonu a seh ‘listen Skeng diss song’. Once him nuh call mi name – him nuh call mi name suh mi wouldn’t call it a diss song. Suh him haffi brave… me is a feisty bwoy enuh; win or lose a clash; mi waa yuh call mi name: a war. Nuff people a seh, ‘yow a fake ting’. My yute, mi an di man nuh have nuttn an di dawg a start push badniss. Mi nuh know ifa di molly a get to him head or wha, or mushrooms or wha,” he said.
“But as mi seh mi naw dwell pan dat,” he said.
Following the publication of the statement about the two artistes, Queen Ifrica’s followers flocked to the comments, some expressing irritation that she had mentioned Mavado’s name, while others sought to find out what transgression the Father God artist had committed.
As the debate reigned about her reference to Movado, other fans argued that his name ought not to be mentioned as he had not been found guilty of any wrongdoing anywhere and had been simply minding his own business.
“I think she’s is saying movado ran away to farrin, but movado still a millionaire so I dont understand. she’s saying valiant has police and political friends in high places,” one woman surmised.
“Wat happen to Mavado why u bringing up kartel,” another asked, to which a man sought to give the answer, replying: “Him stuck in America can’t come back here without facing some charges him basically run weh.”
Another man, rushing to Ifrica’s defense, argued that the Lioness on the Rise artist should not be chastized, as she had not said anything wrong about Mavado, and her warning to Skeng and Valiant is valid.
“All now she didn’t say anything bad about mavado, these fools in the comments asking stupid questions. Everybody asking what happened to Mavado. Let me clear that up fi unnu. Mavado is only Jamaican artist who got deported from Jamaica. Do unnu research,” he said.
