President of World Boxing, Boris van der Vorst, will begin an official visit to Jamaica starting March 29 when he lands at the Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.
The four-day visit will conclude on Tuesday April 2.
Van der Vorst, will get the opportunity to see first-hand Jamaica’s boxing on display in Montego Bay when he visits the Jamaica Boxing Association’s gym in the second city.
He will also see the schools’ programme which is under development at St. Andrew Technical High School, (Staths) at Bumper Hall in Kingston.
Van der Vorst will also engage in discussions with stakeholders in the boxing community to strengthen, support and endorse the development of boxing in Jamaica.
President of the Jamaica Boxing Association, Stephen Bomber Jones, is looking forward to the visit.
Jones says van der Vorst sees Jamaica as an important plank in the development of the sport in the Caribbean region and the world.
