A month after his arrest and release, TikToker Pops YG appeared on popular Jamaican show OnstageTV where he was interviewed by Winford Williams. In the interview the Trelawny native showed a million cash, Talks Sting 2024, highlighted that he wanted to be an artiste from when he was in school and more.
The 20-year-old who is usually well-mannered when he talks to older people on TikTok calling them “aunty” and “uncle”, “Mr” and “Mrs” did the same when addressing the host of the show, starting off most of his statements or ending them, saying “Mr Winford”.
A count was done and in the 20 minute-long interview, Pops YG said “Mr Winford” at least 65 times. Notably, his mouth slipped twice whereby he said ‘Winford’ however, he corrected himself on each occasion by saying “Mr Winford” moments later.
Pops YG’s popularity increased on social media following Dancehall artiste Squash using his voice saying, “lone big breeze… up inna dem home town, cap dem a cap, hide dem a hide,” in the hit song ‘Big Breeze’ that has racked up over 20 million views in just 7 months.
Pops YG who currently has over 180k followers on TikTok also talked about his booking to perform at Sting 2024, highlighting that he’s predicting that he will take the show with a surprise that he will not reveal until it happens.
“Mi ago star the show,” he says as it relates to Sting.
As he talked more on Sting, the TikToker outlines that ‘Mr Winford’ will call him for another interview right after Sting. However, he had a request for his next interview, asking Winford to make the doorway bigger inside the Onstage studio so that he can drive his Benz inside to do the show.
