Mount Pleasant Extends JPL Lead with Win Over Vere

Mount Pleasant Academy are now six points clear at the top of the Wray and Nephew/Jamaica Premier League standings following a 3-0 win over Vere United on Wednesday.

Miguel Joseph, Raheem Edwards and Franco Celestine bagged the goals for Mount Pleasant who are now on 72 points.

Meanwhile, Portmore United beat Molynes United 1-0 at Ferdie Neita Park to remain fourth on 57 points. Shaquell Henry scored the winner.

Racing United failed to jump into that crucial sixth playoff spot. They were held goal-less by Harbour View at the Compound.

The league continues on Thursday with four more games. Waterhouse and Montego Bay United will meet in the pick of the bunch at Drewsland in a 6 pm kickoff.

Champions Cavalier will visit the Edward Seaga Complex to face Tivoli Gardens, Humble Lion and Arnett Gardens meet at Effortville Community Centre while Chapelton Maroons and Dunbeholden square off at Royal Lakes.
