Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited says chief executive officer, CEO, of Advantage General Insurance Company, AGIC, Mark Thompson, has resigned.
His resignation is effective October 31, 2024.
In a statement to the media on Thursday, Sagicor advised that Mr. Thompson has also stepped down from all of its affiliated boards.
In the interim, AGIC’s deputy CEO Dave Morrison will assume the role of acting-CEO, managing day-to-day operations.
Mr. Morrison, who is a chartered accountant with more than 20 years’ experience, rejoined the AGIC team in 2019 and was appointed deputy CEO in September 2023. He has spent more than ten years combined at AGIC.
President and CEO of Sagicor Group Jamaica and chairman of AGIC, Christopher Zacca, says Mr. Thompson has served Advantage General well over the years and has contributed to key milestones, helping to guide the company’s progress.
For his part, Mr. Thompson says he’s leaving Sagicor with a deep sense of satisfaction in what he has assisted in building and with great optimism for the future of Advantage General Insurance.
Mr. Thompson has led AGIC, a member of the Sagicor Group, since July 2007.
Sagicor says he was an important part of the transformation of Advantage General Insurance Company, leading the company’s commitment to becoming the “Digital Insurer of Choice”.
