Liverpool have returned to the top of the English Premier League standing, 24 hours after they were displaced by the Gunners of Arsenal.
The Reds defeated Sheffield United 3-1 at Anfield to regain their two point advantage after goals from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Argentina’s world cup winner Alexis McCallister made light work of the league’s bottom team.
Meanwhile, Cole Palmer bagged a hat-trick including two in the last two minutes of the game to see Chelsea to a 4-3 victory over Manchester United in a wild game at Stamford Bridge.
The defeat further dented United’s chances of European football for next season, while Chelsea moved into the top ten.
