Two of the country’s major private sector bodies believe acceleration of growth should be among the major priorities of new Minister of Finance, Fayval Williams.

The president of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, PSOJ, and the MSME Alliance were guests on Nationwide This Morning on Friday.

Metry Seaga is PSOJ president.

Mr. Seaga says the growth agenda should not be slowed down despite Minister Williams assuming the finance portfolio in an election period.

Immediate past-president of the MSME Alliance, Donovan Wignal agrees.

Meanwhile, Mr. Seaga says the PSOJ is more interested in Minister Williams’ ability to get things done than concerns about her communication style.

He says once Minister Williams performs, her work will speak for itself.
