Jonathan Hope Delivers Upset at Squash Invitational

Number-5 seed Jonathan Hope produced the biggest upset of the Jamaica Squash Invitational when he defeated third seed Jerazeno bell at the Liguanea Club, Thursday night.

Hope stopped Bell 6-11, 11-4, 11-6, 11-5.

Meanwhile, number-1 ranked Ashante Smith continued his progress beating Leonel Sorrillo 14-12, 11-5, 11-4. Number-2 ranked Bruce Burrowes beat Fitzroy Smith 11-3, 11-3, 11-5.

Other winners include, Stephan Morrison, Ethan Miller and Mario Occonor.

On the women’s side, Sanjana Nallapati defeated Tracy Binnie 11-6, 11-3, 11-2, Mehar Trehan stopped Kerry-Gay Wright 11-2, 11-3, 11-4 and Elle Wilson beat Priya Stoddart 11-6, 11-9, 11-4
