The Jamaica Football Federation’s election and voting congress is all set to go ahead as scheduled on Sunday at the Royalton Hotel in Negril.

Today the Court of Appeal cleared the way for the election after dismissing an appeal by Beach Soccer Jamaica against the court’s decision to allow the JFF elections to proceed before the April 23 start of a trial.

Beach Soccer Jamaica had originally gotten a 28 day injunction that blocked the elections of the JFF which was scheduled for January 14.

However the injunction was lifted on February 9 after the Supreme Court ruled that Beach Soccer Jamaica did not put forward a case that the court could rule on.

Lawyers for the BSJ took the matter to the Court of Appeal, with today’s ruling opening the way for JFF to convene elections.

Meanwhile Football’s world governing body FIFA and the body that runs the region’s football Concacaf are reportedly sending two representatives each to oversee the elections.

Vice President Raymond Anderson is challenging incumbent Michael Ricketts for local football’s top job.
