Grammy-nominated singer Jesse Royal is set to release a deep, 'soulful' single which reflects on "honouring women" and getting a more meaningful connection with the human soul.

" Your Soul is all about striving fi go deeper than just the surface, especially in a time where love seems fleeting or real connections aren't valued as much as they used to be. So for me, it was leaving pride at the door is basically accepting the present and going with God's plan," he said. Your Soul was just an honest conversation - man to woman sitten. Inna dis age where we all have on masks, we all put on shows, but mi waah see yuh soul, yuh nuh."

With this track being slightly different from Jesse Royal's known dominant styles and musical flow, he said this approach shows his versatility and a great need to highlight this topic.

"I definitely dabble in and enjoy all different genres and I try to study as much as I can to ensure that my instrument is able to be used in the most efficient way while I'm here. While producing this track, the first day me and one a mi bredda name 'Vision [Alexander]' worked on the hook just to get supmn different and we were both throwing melodies around [until] we found the melody weh work. It's whole heap a different music and melodies wi always play with, suh I was always confident [in trying new genres] ... it's just fi can put it in a way weh feed people appetite," Jesse Royal shared with a laugh.

He opined that music lovers will like the single, with its different soundscape, melody, lyrics and conversation.

"But it's still me, suh wi definitely expect people to receive it with open arms and it's a song weh grow pon yuh. The more yuh listen it, the more yuh fall in love with the idea of going beyond the surface and leaving pride at the door. And mi excited fi see how people ago react to the energy that is trapped in Your Soul," the Rich Forever artiste added. Your Soul, which was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Sean Alaric, is set to be released on Friday.

Jesse Royal opined that though the new musical scene creates a lot of lyrically aggressive messages, he still believes there are many songs which speak to the tender love for women.

"Nuh matter how yuh see dem [artistes] gwaan rough and tough, Jamaican man love woman bad and wi honour dem," said Jesse Royal. "Yes, yuh wi have some youth a guh through dem phase and dem wi talk to dem girl certain way, but ignorance is bliss and yuh affi gi dem youth deh di time fi overstand (understand) the reality of a woman's worth."

He added, "But I'm definitely confident that the youth dem wi fawud roun because after a time, dem ago realise seh mi can't talk to mi madda, wife or mi daughter suh... but a whole heap a love deh a Jamaica, man," the singer stated. However, he suggested that the love songs "just need to be promoted more".

"And I'm a firm believer in more reggae artiste spreading their music [in general] to the world".

After just coming off a "successful" solo show in the US, and two extensive tours in Belize and England, Jesse Royal plans to kick-start 2025 with a Florida tour. The artiste is also gearing up to release musical singles and videos, leading up to the release of his third studio album next April.
