There’s a shake-up in the national under-20 men’s football coaching set-up.

Coach of Jamaica Premier League club Tivoli Gardens, Jerome Waite, has been appointed head coach of the National under-20 men’s football team.

He replaces John Wall, who’d been in charge of the programme for the past year. Wall has been recalled by the JFF to the national senior team to join head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson.

Wall’s substantive duties when he first join the JFF was the first assistant to Hallgrimsson, but he was asked to take charge of the youth programme because of his experience and success coaching at that level.

Wall is also the FIFA Talent Development Scheme manager for Jamaica.

Coach Waite is no stranger to the national programme, having He held positions at the under-20, 23 and senior levels.

Wall successfully guided Jamaica into the final round of Concacaf Under 20 World Cup qualifying during the recent Caribbean tournament in St. Kitts.

The young Reggae Boyz will go into the Concacaf Championship final round World Cup Qualifiers in June in Mexico.
