Jay-Z rape accuser admits to errors in her story

Jay-Z's accuser has admitted there were "some mistakes" in her allegations against the rapper. The 55-year-old musician is facing claims from an Alabama woman who alleged that he and Sean 'Diddy' Combs raped her when she was 13 in 2000.

Previously identified only as Jane Doe in court documents, the woman shared her story with NBC News, describing the alleged assault as a "catastrophic event." However, during the interview, she acknowledged inconsistencies in her account of the night she says the attack occurred at an afterparty for the MTV Video Music Awards.

In response to her public statements, Jay-Z's attorney, Alex Spiro, has filed a motion to expedite the case's dismissal, asking a New York court to shorten the 21-day filing deadline to one. The legal request cited the "stunning public disclosures and severe ongoing harm to Mr. Carter's reputation".

NBC News reported that the accuser claimed her father picked her up after the alleged assault, but her father reportedly said he has no recollection of doing so. She defended her memory, saying, "There are a lot of things, and this is stuff that we argue about constantly, something he said or did back in New York around that time period he just doesn't remember. It actually causes a lot of fights sometimes in the household."

The woman also alleged she interacted with musician Benji Madden at the afterparty, but a representative for Madden stated that he and his brother, Joel Madden, were on tour far from the event at the time. Additionally, photographs from the night reportedly show Jay-Z and Combs at a location inconsistent with the accuser's account.

Reflecting on the inconsistencies, she stated, "Honestly, what is the clearest is what happened to me and (the) route that I took to what happened to me. Not all of the faces there are as clear. So I have made some mistakes. I may have made a mistake in identifying."
