World number one Jannik Sinner capped a superb year on Sunday by lifting his first ever ATP title.
The lanky Italian earned a commanding 6-4 victory over America’s Taylor Fritz in the final in Turin, Italy.
Sinner, the first Italian to win the the title, did so without losing a set, the first man since Ivan Lendl in 1986 to do so.
It was the 70th victory of 2024 for Sinner who also won the year’s first two grand slams the Australian and French Open titles.
