Reggae and dancehall icon Agent Sasco is gearing up for a monumental one night only concert, dubbed 'Grateful', set for December 29, at The UWI Bowl in St Andrew.
The date, which coincides with his late mother's birthday, will be a heartfelt tribute to her "great teachings of gratitude" and a celebration of his 25-year journey in music.
"This milestone means everything to me," Agent Sasco shared with THE STAR. "I want this night to reflect gratitude for every moment--the good, the bad, and the transformative experiences that have shaped me."
The concert promises an immersive experience that captures the essence of his evolution as an artiste. Though tight-lipped about the line-up, the Winning Right Now deejay promises a night filled with unforgettable guest performances, featuring colleagues who have been pivotal to his journey.
"I invite everyone to come and celebrate --whether it's my 25 years in music or your own reasons for gratitude. This time of year is perfect for reflection, resolutions, and celebration. Let's do it together," he encouraged.
The entertainer, whose given name is Jeffery Campbell, noted that the name of the concert is one of his hit singles. For him, it is not just a word, but it holds special significance.
"[It's mainly] a celebration of one of my core values, which is gratitude. I've grown to learn the power of gratitude that my mother was very keen to try to teach us, and I said 'try', because I never knew [what it meant] at the time, but eventually I got it. Sadly, it was after her passing that it started to make sense to me. When I realised that the last Sunday of the year would also be my mother's birthday, then I was like 'If I'm gonna do a show, it has to be on this day,'" Agent Sasco shared.
The popular entertainer was given a national award in 2022 - the Order of Distinction. In taking a trip down memory lane, he beamed with gratitude as he looked back on how his musical impact has evolved.
"I'm happy I was courageous enough to pursue what was on my path and pursue the industry in what was closely aligned to my core values. Losing my mother at 23 and becoming a father that same year, a lot a things just meant something different at that time, and some things just stop having any meaning to me. I was able to lean into making sure I was in aligning to what I believe and my values and not compromising that. So I'd say my contribution is more of substance than anything else," Agent Sasco said.
Agent Sasco said he has no regrets about the path taken as he cherishes "the entire journey".
"[The journey] is exactly as how it was supposed to be and I am very grateful for exactly where I am personally - I'm contented, I'm fulfilled and I'm not sure changing variables, what the outcome of that would be," said Agent Sasco.
The recording artiste, producer and entrepreneur is now venturing into real estate, agriculture and tourism, along with doing more community projects and pursuing his other passions.
The singer, who just released his latest collaborative single with reggae songstress, Lila Ike, titled, Everything & Anything, plans on releasing a new album next year.
