In a recent live chat, outspoken Dancehall selector Foota Hype warned of Joe and Kartel working together in an effort to “mashup sting”. According to Foota, Sting’s show should be “respected” for its impact on the genre.
“Too much ego and Joe if you really love the culture and love the music, cut the f**kry bredda, cut the bullshit… if you love the culture like how yuh seh yuh love the culture, don’t try murder Sting,” he said before recounting Vybz Kartel’s clash with Ninjaman and Mavado being highlights of Kartel’s career.

“I don’t think is Kartel is pushing for it to be in December,” he expressed before pointing at Josef Bogdanovich as the culprit behind the plan to overshadow Sting because of personal agenda.
In the live chat, Foota Hype whose real name is Oniel Thomas also mentioned that he heard that Vybz Kartel got 4 million USD to do the show. After giving that insight, he pointed out that the show could have been placed on Vybz Kartel’s birthday.
“It don’t make nuh sense, put the culture first,” he said. According to the Jamaican who now resides overseas, Sting has done more for Dancehall artistes than any other local show has done.
