Racecar driver, Cleve ‘Cutta Hype’ Ottey, will be Jamaica’s representative at the Red Bull Car Park Drift World final at the Muscat Drift Arena in Oman, on December 6.

Ottey will be among 28-drifters from 17 countries vying for the top spot.

He’ll be the second Jamaican to compete on the world stage.

The World Final in Oman is set to up the ante.

Eenergetic crowds will fill the grandstand cheering on their favourite drifters in the unique motorsport environment known for its spectacular scenes fuelled by the roaring engines, screeching tires, and pinpoint-accurate drifting.

With the world’s top drifters in action, the competition is expected to be intense.

Meanwhile, the four Jamaicans who participated in the FIA’s inaugural Regional Training Programme for Stewards all successfully completed the programme and passed its certification exam.

The four are, Rosie Jadusingh, Chadia Washington, Nicholas Donald and Chris Elliott.

The quartet will be acknowledged at the FIA University Graduation ceremony in Rwanda, during the FIA General Assemblies and FIA Awards.

However, the Jamaicans will not be in attendance.

The purpose of the FIA’s new program is to support the growth and development of officials at a national level, while preparing them for international competition.

The four new stewards significantly enhance the pool of motor sport officials in Jamaica.
