Clarke: $20k Reverse Tax Credit to be Paid in Cash

Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke says the just announced $20,000 tax reverse credit will be paid out to Jamaicans in cash after the completion of an online application.

The reverse credit will see Jamaicans who earn $3 million or less annually being able to receive a $20,000 cash payment each fiscal year.

It was announced as part of a suite of measures to ease the burden of Jamaican taxpayers during Dr. Clarke’s Budget Presentation on Tuesday.

However, Dr. Clarke says it will take some time before the system is online.
