Chief executive officer, CEO, of Jamaica Broilers Group, Christopher Levy, says there is a 10 per cent decline in the overall production of chicken meat across the island.
His comments follow reports of a shortage of chicken meat as a result of the impact of Hurricane Beryl on small farmers.
But Mr. Levy, who was speaking on Nationwide at Five on Thursday, noted that poultry production should increase within the next three weeks.

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Floyd Green, says a meeting with stakeholders is scheduled for Friday to discuss short-term measures needed to boost supply.
The minister says this in tandem with a rapid assessment being conducted to ascertain the scale of chicken production across the island.
