#CHAMPS2024 | Excelsior’s Bailey, James the standard in Class One girls’ shot put

Excelsior High’s pair of Kahllah Bailey and Altonique James were the top throwers in the Class One girls’ shot put qualifying round at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships at the National Stadium today.

Bailey threw once and qualified with a distance of 13.17 metres, with teammate James, on her second attempt, achieving a distance of 13.14 metres.

Bailey and James will be joined in the final by St. Catherine High’s Oshari Buchanan; Hydel High’s Natassia Burrell; Clarendon College’s Athilia Pryce; Immaculate Conception High’s Toniann Pryce; Petersfield High’s Marsha Mckoy; St. Andrew High’s Adonay Fearon; Holmwood Technical’s Abbygale West; Edwin Allen High’s Alliah Gittens and Shamoye Morris; and Camperdown’s Shabiekel Byfield.
