Cavalier Wins Concacaf Caribbean Cup

National champions Cavalier are the 2024 winners of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup despite losing 2-1 against Cibao FC in the return leg of the final in the Dominican Republic, last night.

Cavalier, who went into the match leading 1-nil from the first leg, went behind after Juan Díaz opened the scoring in the second leg with a penalty kick in the 27th minute tying the series 1-1 on aggregate.

One minutes later, Rivaldo Correa scored the second for the hosts.

Dwayne Atkinson answered for Cavalier in the 54th minute to tie 2-2 on aggregate which gave Cavalier the title on away goals rule.

Cavalier joins Portmore United and Harbour View as Jamaican clubs who have won the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup.

Harbour View won in 2004 and 2007, while Portmore lift the trophy in 2005 and 2019.

Meanwhile, President of the Jamaica Football Federation, Michael Ricketts, Congratulated Cavalier on becoming the first Jamaican Club to win the Caribbean Cup Championship since 2019.
